The characters

Billy - The son of a Blacksmith, Billy is a giant of a man who was born in the small village of Mibtaim, in the northern state of Nordid. At the tender age of 13 his village was attacked and Orcs dragged the unconcious body of Billy north across the mountains. After the ordeal of the mountains he was sold into slavery and shipped across the sea to a strange land. There he was trained as a slave gladiator and forced to fight in an arena for the amusement of others. Having won ten fights he was given his freedom and the weapon of his choice (he choose a huge war mattock). With his meagre money he purchased passage on a ship back to Sturok where he began his task of searching for survivors from his village.

Dagamar - When he was born surronded by a mgical aura (the intensity of which he later learnt to control) Dagamar was hailed as a Magacian protege. But when this High Elf choose to follow the path of a Sorceror his family turned their back on him. Exiled from his home land he travelled to Sturok to improve his magical skills and find the respect he lacks at home.

Kane - Kane grew up in the small woodland village of Wickania in the state of Costnadum. Having learned his father was a passing soldier who had raped his mother, he vowed vengence and left his home to seek his revenge. He found it impossible to track down his father but the Royal Elite Corps found a way to put his hatred and bow skills to good use. Under the instructions of Commander Durwith, Kane trained with the REC and assisted on their missions of subterfuge and stealth. It was Kane who was give the mission.

Yaven - Also from the small woodland village of Wickania, Yaven's fate was sealed when he was 7 years old. To stop the plague ravishing the woodland the village elders demanded a sacrifice to the god of nature and Yaven was the choosen one. But his parents loved him so they hid him in the forest depths and no sacrifice was made. However, the god brought his own terrible revenge to bear and, though the plague on the surronding area was lifted, a curse was placed on Yaven. From time to time his body is transformed into that of other animals. This freakish man-animal has spent his life outcast from humanity but found friendship and companionship in the creatures of the wild.

The mission

The mission seemed simple. Kane was asked by Commander Durwith to deliver four hand-bells to Father Pico Manzine who ran the church in the town of Liftim in Coultar. The town was many days travel away and, the shortest route, included crossing the Dwarven state of Branum. With there being safety in numbers Durwith suggested that Kane be accompanied by Billy. Billy was from a far away land and, after meeting a REC member on a ship to Costnadum, had his own reasons to seek out the Priest of Liftim.

The journey began and travel went smoothly through the state of Costnadum. A patrol of soldiers passing in the opposite direction reported that the only thing to be warily of was that feral cat had escapde from from 'Dr Saragoza's travelling world of the strangely bizzare'. Confident that a wild cat couldn't harm them the duo continued to the town of Grognor. There they met up with Yaven who too was travelling to see Father Pico Manzine. Rumour had it the Priest was one of onle two people who might be able to help Yaven with his curse. Soon Yaven revealed they were not a party of three, but of six, as they would be travelling with his friends the hawk, the wolf and the raccoon.

By the next night-fall they were approaching the small town Stravner. Passing travellers had warned of the inn-keepers temper and the local hunted house, but the party shrugged it off as the kind of tall tale told by all yokels.
